Exploring Downtown on Bikes!

Yesterday, I decided that I didn't want to do any work on our house with packing for our move. So, Zack decided that we would go downtown and rent the Denver B Share bikes and ride around. So we went to one of the stations near REI and checked out the last two bikes at that station. It is great because you get a 24 hour pass for $5.00 and then you can ride for as long as you want. The best thing is that there are so many stations you ride for 30 minutes and then check the bike in at a different station and check out another bike. You can ride a bike for 30 mninutes at no cost.

We rode our bikes around the Platte River bike trail. We really didn't know where we were going since we aren't familiar with the paths, so we rode north for awhile. Then we decided to go and eat lunch. We parked our bikes at a station and crossed over the bridge. I don't know the name of the bridge, but I think it looks like a sailboat. On the other side of the brdige the city is working on a new light rail station and on the chain link fence there are beautiful crocheted flowers, so I asked Zack to go check them out and took a picture. The flowers were actually really pretty. I don't know who made them but they really help to make the fence look nice.

Once over the bridge we had to make the decision of where to get lunch. We didn't know what we were hungry for as we walked past resturant after resturant. Zack asked do you want "Subway, McDonalds, Chilies?" I decided since we were downtown we should go to some place different. We saw a resturant called Madgreens which I had driven by on Colorado Blvd. before, so I told Zack lets go there. So we walked into Madgreens and ordered sandwiches, chips and a soda sat down and ate a great lunch.

After lunch we decided to go back over the bridge and check out more bikes. On the way to the bridge we past a station with all the bikes checked into the station. So we decided to go check out bikes and ride to the bridge, but the station wasn't working...that is why all the bikes were checked into the station. So we crossed the bridge and checked out two more bikes. We got back on the Platte River bike trail and rode south. We rode all the way to Elitches and watched and listened to the people yell on the rollar coaster. Then we went to Invesco Field and finally headed back to REI.

Riding the bikes was so much fun!! We saw other people riding the B share bikes as we rode ours. So, if you go downtown and need something to do go check out the Denver B Share bikes.
