Well, here are the last of the pictures. We learned several things: how to eat French cheese- slowly, delicately, with quiet idle comments about the weather. Zack thought the underground tour was awesome. Even Honey was interested- for the first ten miles. After that the 6 million people whose bones are interred got a bit tedious- they kept asking who was king, trying to chase us, eat us, you know, all the usual skeleton bad manners. If you want to know more about Paris tunnels, the January 2011 edition of National Geographic has a section on it.

And yes, it is quite large. |
Even in the cold and rain, Honey is happy. |
This is at the very top. Notice the lack of,
well, any visual cues. We are in the clouds.
As usual. |
This was taken at the mid-level. You can almost see the city. If we
were not in the way, of course. |
Notre Dame. We did not get to the top.
Honey nixed the idea because Zack
kept singing that darn Disney song,
"The bells of Notre Dame." |
This shows the evolution of the cathedral shape.
Zack thinks it is his favorite educational picture. |
We needed food. This makes everything all better. None
of that tea-spoon of sugar nonsense. |
So this was a throw-away picture- blurry, out of focus, too dark.
And then Zack edited it.
We do not remember seeing that guy behind the fence at Notre Dame. |
Notre Dame. Good view of the flying butts. |
A mummy. In Paris. In the rain. |
In the catacombs, many strange creatures
live in the tunnels. Note the silly looking
Zackus Dorkus, grinning for no reason
except he is running around underground
tunnels. |
Some poor folks we accosted along the
way. Note the dark trail on the
ceiling. That has traditionally been how
people working can find their way out. |
You mean those little columns are holding up Paris? |
A worker carved this from memeory of
an actual place. |
When in Paris underground... carve things out of stone. |
A well to check water levels. |
Six million in miles and miles and miles of tunnels. |
What do you do after seeing the catacombs? Go to a
bookstore of course! |
Honey, in Paris. |
Paris. |
These poor people. We tortured them all
day. |
Lots of talent on Busker Street. |
Up by Sacred Heart. |
Sacred Heart. |
We got our portraits done by Marco. |
Can we get some turkey for dinner? |
So that is what he was juggling. |
The doorway of Notre Dame. |
The illicit sellers by the tower. These guys, running
away from the police, entertained us
for hours while we stood in line. |
Looks awesome!! I love the Zakus Dorkus!!! I think I knew him once....
