Almost Three Months

After living in Sarajevo for almost three months I finally get to add a book to my list. We have had parent teacher conferences which went well and we have a long weekend coming up. So far we are enjoying our time in Sarajevo.

We spent the morning going grocery shopping. We are able to navigate through the grocery store knowing where things are now.  Even though Zack said I go through the store backwards. Not walking backwards, but I like to get the juice, cereal, and bread first while Zack likes to get the meat first and then end up with the cereal, bread and juice. I guess everyone goes through the store differently. After the grocery store we head over to the market to see our ladies...they're the ladies we see every saturday or sunday to get our vegetables and fruits for the week. We have been going to the same ladies for three weeks now and sometimes they will throw in extra onions or something. I was excited last week when she gave us two extra onions. It's the little things that make me happy.  We are finding that we are eating more fruits and vegetables here than we did in Colorado.

We are looking forward to some upcoming trips. This coming weekend we are going to London. We are going to try to see Harry Potter in London which is exciting!! I am sure we will be posting pictures after our trip.

This is the walkway to our door. We think of it as our own secret garden. The colors this Fall were amazing. We have enjoyed seeing so much red here because we don't get that back in Colorado.

Another great view of our landlords house. We always feel so comfortable being able to walk through the garden before going inside. Unlike some of our coworkers apartments that you walk up flights of dark stairs or get out of your car right at their door and then go into the house. Our house is very homey feeling.

Sadly, all the red leaves have now fallen, but it was beautiful. We had great weather this week, but I'm sure  winter will slowly make it's way to us. We did have snow for about five minutes two weeks ago, but nothing since. You can start to smell the wood and coal stoves burning now. It is sort of nice to smell it in the air now. I am sure when winter is half over we will want people to stop buring the coal and wood, but for now it is enjoyable.

Here is our little car. Its actually a good size car. We are able to fit five people in it comfortably. It almost feels like you are driving a mini van in a way because you sit a little high inside.

Zack wanted everyone to know that our car is an elf.
Now I think I will try to get some school work done while Zack is taking a nap. We are going to one of our Bosnian co-workers house tonight for dinner and then going to Old town to try and go to the Jazz Festival and maybe meet up with some more of our Bosnian co-workers. It will be a great night and what makes it even better is that we get to sleep in tomorrow.
