Four Days in London

We arrived in London on November 13 around 4:30 p.m. with our traveling party which included Nick, Suzanne, Maxine, Roger and Susan. This was the first time for us to travel with our coworkers outside of Bosnia. The five of them have traveled together before. Let me tell you at the beginning of our blog that we enjoyed our time in London and enjoyed traveling with our co-workers. They have become our International family.

When we arrived in London they were celebrating Remembrance Day for those who had fought in the wars and lost their lives. So there were red poppies all over the city, and people were wearing them on their lapels. I picked one up at a cafe and stuck it on the outside of my purse, so I could help support. The weather was your typical November London weather. It was cold about 11 degrees C for the first day. Which doesn't sound too cold, but then you have the damp cold air blowing and it was cold. The first night we got there and we checked into our hotel, went across the street and ate dinner and then walked around the streets of London.

We had the best waiter at dinner. We had a pretty large group of 7 to begin with in a small place and we were waiting for three more to come. Roger was meeting a friend who he had a camera sent to that night. So, we told the waiter that we wanted seperate bills. He moaned a little but in the end gave them to us along with letters. Such as couple A, couple B and Couple C. He told us when the other people came they would be couple D. He and the other people serving us that night kept referring to us as couple A... it was alot of fun and the food wass delious.

After eating dinner Nick, Suzanne, Zack and I walked around London. We ended up walking from our area which was Kensington Park to a large shopping district which we later learned that if you walk down one side and back up the other side you walk about 5 km. Bothe sides of the street is lined with shops and places to eat. I can't remember the name of the shopping district, but it was decorated with Christmas lights and there were a lot of people out and about that night. After walking aounr for awhile and taking more pictures, we decided it was time to walk back to the hotel. As we started to walk back we noticed an underground and decided to try it out. It was a great idea and we got back to our hotel a lot faster using the underground compared to walking.

Our first day/night in London was fantastic!
